As hard as you try to avoid potholes and debris on the road, sometimes puncturing your tire is unavoidable. Plus, chances are you may not notice that your tire needs to be repaired until days—sometimes even weeks or months—after the fact when your tire pressure isn’t right.

We here at BMW of Albany have made repairing tires simple, thanks to the help of our certified technicians. So, instead of looking for tire repair near me, give us a visit and we’ll get everything back in order fast and easy. Keep reading to learn how!

Why Repair Tires

To ensure your safety on the road, you cannot drive on a tire that needs to be repaired. We say this because a tire that has been punctured is slowly leaking air out of the hole—hence why your tire pressure is off.

When your tire is underinflated, there’s a higher chance of it blowing. This is because there isn’t enough air to hold the proper shape of the tire. When you start driving around, too much of your tire will touch the road’s surface, which then creates too much friction.

This extra friction leads to tire wear—which can decrease your ability to stop—or a total tire blowout. To keep you and everyone else on the road safe, do not drive on an underinflated tire or a tire that needs to be repaired.

Tire Inspection

Tire Repair Made Easy

Repairing tires requires the trained eye of a mechanic. Fortunately, our dealership has not one, but two certified technicians at our BMW service center. Using their knowledge and skills, our technicians will determine if it’s possible to repair your punctured tire.

Special considerations that our mechanics look for include:

  • Puncture occurs in the tread area only.
  • Puncture is no bigger than a quarter of an inch.
  • Distance between multiple punctures is greater than 16 inches, if applicable.

After studying your punctured tire, our team will get to work repairing your tire with a combination of a patch and a plug since this is the only acceptable way to repair a tire. You can even schedule your service appointment online.

What to Do If a Tire Can’t Be Repaired

Unfortunately, not all tires are able to be repaired. If that’s the case, the purchase of a new tire or tires is required. In that situation, make sure you purchase your new tire(s) from our dealership, as we typically run several tire promotions throughout the year.

Plus, when you purchase your tire(s) from our dealership, you’ll have Road Hazard Tire Coverage backing you up. In the untimely chance that after purchasing your new tire(s), they too become punctured, you have a 100 percent replacement promise with the coverage plan. That means that you’ll receive new tires at no cost to you.
